PATHFINDER CARE

Understanding Substance Use

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is not a moral failing but a complex medical condition that requires understanding and support. Recovery is not about willpower alone; it is about addressing both the symptoms and the underlying factors that contribute to substance use.

At Pathfinder Care, we take an evidence-informed approach to treatment, using scientifically supported methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. We recognize that recovery is different for everyone.

There is no single path to success, and perfection is not the goal. Instead, we focus on providing personalized tools and support to help individuals progress at their own pace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself,
or for someone you care about, we know you’ve got questions

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) -IOP is a more structured – but still non-residential – treatment option for individuals dealing with mental health disorders and substance use disorders.  It provides a higher level of care than traditional outpatient therapy, but is less intensive than inpatient or residential programs. (ASAM 2.1)

Co-Occuring Mental Health Support - Approximately half of individuals who have substance use challenges also experience a co-occurring mental health condition. Common mental health disorders seen alongside SUDs include depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to provide consistent, structured support while allowing you to maintain responsibilities at home, work, or school. The IOP schedule includes:

Group Sessions:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Individual Therapy:
Scheduled separately during the week based on your availability and preferences.

We work closely with each client to ensure individual sessions are integrated into their weekly routine in a way that supports both recovery and real-life balance.

If a higher level of care is needed, we will direct you to external programs that may better suit your needs.
